The International College of Geriatric Psychoneuropharmacology is pleased to announce the availability of International Junior Investigator Awards for attendance at the XVII Annual meeting to be held in Chicago, Illinois USA October 4 - 7, 2017.
These International Junior Investigator Awards are open to investigators from any country who must be within 8 years (fulltime equivalent) of completing their training (residency for MDs or post-doctoral fellowship for PhDs) and who are no higher than the Assistant Professor level. The applicants must have an academic record of accomplishment in the field of geriatric psychoneuropharmacology. This will usually be evidenced by some publications in peer reviewed journals and/or presentations of posters/talks at national or international meetings.
Recipients of the Award will be invited to attend a Junior Investigator Training Day (typically occurring the day prior to the ICGP meeting) and are assigned a senior investigator mentor. The Training Day provides an opportunity for awardees to hear from and interact with senior investigators in the field of geriatric mental health and to present their own work. In addition, awardees are given the opportunity to submit their work for consideration to be published in a Special Issue of the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry (the official journal of the ICGP), dedicated to the work of ICGP Junior Investigator awardees.
The ICGP will cover the cost of meeting registration for Junior Investigator Awardees. In addition, ICGP membership dues for 2018 will be free for each Awardee.
